Our Experience
When he left the corporate sector at the end of 2014, Mark Cooper formed Cooper Gas & Energy Consultants Pty Ltd. With over 40 years’ experience in the Australian energy industry, CGEC is focussed on providing corporate advisory services and advising businesses about their energy requirements and sourcing, and providing energy policy advice to government agencies and multilateral development banks in the Asia Pacific region.
Mark Cooper's experience includes operational and commercial roles in gas transmission and electricity businesses. He has been responsible for the negotiation and management of revenue contacts, procurement, including gas supply agreements and for the commercial operation of large gas transmission pipelines. He has led business development teams in M&A and both brownfield and greenfield projects in the gas transmission, gas storage and electricity transmission sectors, including both regulated and unregulated assets.
During his corporate career, he has served on industry and government advisory boards at the national and state level, and serves on the boards of several not-for-profit community organisations.
